Your cholesterol is at the level we aim for on your current tablet. Nothing needs to change.
What this result means
Your cholesterol has come down to the level we aim for. That is the tablet doing its job.
It means your chance of a heart attack or stroke is lower than it would be without it.
What we have done
Your GP has reviewed the result and recorded it. Your prescription stays the same.
What you need to do
Do
- keep taking your tablet every day, because the benefit lasts only while you take it
- book your next cholesterol blood test in 12 months, and we will text a reminder
- keep up the things that help alongside the tablet
Information:
If you are finding it hard to take the tablet regularly, tell us at your next review. A different dose or a different tablet can usually be found.
Immediate action required: Call 999 now if you have:
- chest pain at rest, or chest pain lasting more than 15 minutes
- sudden weakness or numbness in the face or one arm
- sudden trouble speaking or understanding speech
Urgent advice: Stop the tablet and contact the surgery the same day if you have:
- dark or cola-coloured urine
- severe muscle pain or weakness, or trouble climbing stairs
- yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes
